AssuredPartners NL Agents with Power Broker Award

Todd Hester and Bill Sullivan Honored with Power Broker Designation in the Employee Benefits Category

Louisville, Ky. – March 4, 2013 — AssuredPartners NL, an AssuredPartners, Inc. company, is pleased to announce that two of its agents were named 2013 Power Brokers by Risk & Insurance magazine. Todd Hester and Bill Sullivan were recognized as Power Brokers in the employee benefits category for their commitment to developing innovative insurance solutions for their clients. The Power Broker designation honors agents that demonstrate their passion to go the extra mile for their clients through creative problem solving and customer service.

Hester is an employee benefits specialist in the AssuredPartners NL Bowling Green, Ky. office. He received the Power Broker designation for his work with an automotive plant in Kentucky that was considering mass layoffs when the global automotive supply chain was disrupted by the tsunami that struck Japan in 2011. Hester’s solution helped the plant save jobs by cutting costs from the plant’s health care program, and an increased focus on employee wellness. Over the past year, the plant’s loss ratio decreased from 110 percent to 72 percent.

Sullivan is managing director of the AssuredPartners NL Columbus, Ohio office. He received his Power Broker designation for his work with a superstore that was facing a 32 percent increase in its health care premiums. Sullivan worked with the carrier to create a high deductible plan and facilitated the creation of a captive that was used to cover the expenses the company was incurring underneath by contributing to an employee health fund. To date, Sullivan has saved this superstore more than $700,000 each year, and has introduced a wellness initiative that is running at a flat claim cost basis.
