Understanding the New Emergency Preparedness Requirements

emerThe Emergency Preparedness Final Rule was released on Friday, September 16, 2016, effecting SNFs, Nursing Facilities and ICF/IIDs. This rule is not applicable to Assisted Living Providers. On June 2, 2017, CMS released the Emergency Preparedness Interpretive Guidance to understand the new rule.

Although though the AHCA is in process of reviewing the interpretive guidance now, AHCA members are encouraged to look through the guidelines, in order to comply with the final rule by November 2017. The AHCA will send more details as they become available. In the meantime, the AHCA has an Emergency Preparedness Final Rule Webinar Series that can be found here.
